No. This is not about the dreams you get in your sleep. It's about dream as in goals.
What do I really want to do with my life? What would be my perfect life?
I guess, it would be, to live to be a 100 in good physical condition. Now what do I do with all those years? I want to be able to educate my children and my children's children on how to live the life they want. It's about freedom. For myself, I want to be able to go where I want to go and do what I want to do.
Well, let me try to define a typical day in my perfect life.
On a regular day, I'd wake up at 5 am in the morning to enjoy the quiet of the morning calm. I'll have a good and heavy breakfast. (sometimes, I'll cook it and on other days, well, there's the house help). Next, maybe an hour or two of exercise. Tai Chi for good chakra flow and flexibility. And then I don't mind jogging (in my estate grounds or maybe a nearby park, though I'd like a high tech thread mill too, just in case it rains). Swimming will also let me work on my breathing and provide low impact full body exercise. (This is beginning to sound like a rest house in the middle of a golf course).
Since my money-making assets are already providing me with more than my living expenses. I really don't have to work. So my typical day, would either be spent on the following:
Checking with my managers regarding the handling of my investments. You can't be lax to stay on top. :P
Teaching at a nearby school. I don't know. Maybe at the college level where I can educate in terms of nursing or the computer sciences or maybe at the lower levels, to give them a boost. I'd like to teach them about real life and how they too can attain freedom.
Maybe discovering things or writing programs that makes life at my home safer, and more efficients. Who knows, if I would be able to invent/design the first practical computerized house and revolutionize modern living as much as the invention of the light bulb.
I'd like to work part-time at a hospital too to keep my nursing skill sharp. I'd probably like the Emergency Room while I am young and will probably move towards another area as I grow older (to reduce exposure to pathogens in consideration of my aging immune system). Perhaps I can do a Private Practice thing. Or maybe a course in reflexology, will convert me to the local "hilot" in the area. Hahaha.
At night, I'd like to be available for my family. Maybe cook for them. I want to be available to help out my children and grand children in academic works and real life situations.
On weekends, I dream of being the coolest grandpa able to beat my grand-children on Tekken 12, or whatever the next generation fighting game might be. On certain seasons, I want to travel with my wife to places that she'd love to go. It doesn't really matter to me where so long as it's not too noisy. Las Vegas doesn't attract me but maybe the serene environment of Paris will.
And then, I don't know why... but I want to see the Aurora Borealis. The spectacular light show generated by the Earth's protective magnetic field as it fends off much of the sun's deadly rays. Yup, that will be the day I can say "I did it".
I may never know if God will ever grant me all these things. But having dreams is better than just living life the same way day-in and day-out. I know these are all possible (without the aid of the lottery too), through hard work, dedication and a sharp mind.
Faith /can/ move mountains. No longer am I the sarcastic kid, who wants to see it done literally. Mountains have been flattened by man's technology which goes to show that it is truly possible. Well, OK, not the most beautiful example but... Indeed, what the human mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
